Who is Margaret Dagrosa?
A Graduate of Loyola University Maryland with a BA in Psychology and Fordham University with an MSEd in Mental Health Counseling; I formed my identity as a modern, flexible, loving, and accepting therapist. I’ve worked in a substance abuse clinic, a mental health clinic, and a group private practice; through this work I paired my experience with continued education to improve my practice and work as a therapist. Psychodynamically oriented I pull from DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and Trauma informed therapy to round out my work. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and take great care to educate myself regularly to remain culturally competent in all areas of my practice.
Through my experiences, I learned the importance of meeting my clients where they are and working with them to figure out what is best for them. I believe therapy should be a warm and collaborative experience, where clients feel safe and nurtured.
Having my own struggles with anxiety, trauma, and insecurities, I learned the importance of therapy as both the client and the therapist. I know therapy is hard work, but I have seen in both myself and my clients that change is possible with focus, hard work, and commitment.
